It is a small, authentic place where it takes very little to feel at home: an open door, a smile, animals grazing in the fields and the scent of something cooking in the kitchen.

The family takes care of dairy and beef cattle, sheep, goats and pigs, looking after the animals as part of the everyday life of the farm and making the most of what the land provides. These are also the ingredients behind the farm’s own products and specialities: cheese, meat and other locally produced foods that express the close connection between the farm and the kitchen.

And the kitchen is one of the best ways to discover this place. At Malga Canali, traditional Trentino and Primiero dishes are prepared using old family recipes, preserved and, when needed, reinterpreted with simplicity and care. It is honest, homemade food, based on ingredients that do not have to travel far and flavours that taste of a mountain kitchen.

But Malga Canali is about much more than food. It is also a place where visitors can meet the animals and discover what life on a mountain farm is really like, through activities organised throughout the year and, above all, through the openness of a family that was born and raised here.
