RIFUGIO TOGNOLA
A balcony over the Dolomites, where mountain views meet the flavours of the mountains
At 2,200 metres above sea level, right at the top station of the Tognola cable car, there is a place where the mountains reveal themselves in all their beauty. This is Rifugio Tognola, overlooking the Pale di San Martino, the Lagorai range and, towards the Veneto Dolomites and Marmolada: a natural terrace where the view stretches across the mountains in every direction.
Here, the panorama is not simply a backdrop, but an essential part of the experience. From the large panoramic terrace, you can enjoy lunch, take a sunny break, grab a quick snack or simply stop to breathe in the fresh mountain air and admire the Dolomites around you.
The cuisine shares the same strong connection with the local area. At Rifugio Tognola, traditional dishes and fresh, locally sourced ingredients come together in a menu designed to accompany a day in the mountains with simple, genuine flavours. In winter, the refuge is a favourite stop for those enjoying the snow, while in summer it becomes a gateway to hiking and mountain-bike routes across the Alpe Tognola.
The mountains here are also made for little explorers. Right in front of the refuge is a dedicated family and children’s area, with activities, games and workshops that offer a fun way to discover nature and the flavours of the mountains.
