Rampeèr Birrificio Osteria
Born from Daniel’s passion for brewing, a Dolomite brewery bringing the character of Val di Fassa into every glass
In Campitello di Fassa, Daniel's passion becomes craft beer, bringing the character of the Dolomites into every glass.
Some passions appear almost by chance, while others take years to become a real project. Daniel, master brewer and the heart of Rampeèr, belongs to the second kind. His passion grew through years of travelling across Europe, discovering different brewing traditions, tasting new beers and studying brewing techniques. Then, in 2020, the time came to return home and turn that passion into something tangible: bringing craft beer to Campitello di Fassa.
And so Rampeèr was born, the first brewery in Val di Fassa, located inside the Hotel Alpi, a family-run hotel that has been welcoming guests in the heart of the Dolomites for more than sixty years. The name is no coincidence: in Ladin, rampeèr means “to climb”, a direct reference to the mountains and to the spirit of adventure behind the project.
Daniel brings everything he has learned on his travels into the brewery, while never losing sight of where he comes from. His beers draw inspiration from brewing styles from around the world and combine traditional techniques with modern technology. Carefully selected ingredients form the basis of every recipe, including local products such as honey and hops whenever possible. And then there is the water from Val Duron, one of the distinctive elements of the beers and an even stronger link to the surrounding territory.
Stepping into the brewery means stepping into Daniel's world. The brewing equipment is on display, allowing visitors to see the process that transforms water, malt, hops and yeast into beers with their own distinctive character. From the brewhouse to fermentation, and from filling to tapping, every stage reveals something about the craft behind each beer. Daniel himself often shares this story with visitors, explaining what happens behind every glass.
But Rampeèr is not simply a place where beer is brewed. It is a place where beer is meant to be enjoyed. In the Brew Pub, the warm contemporary atmosphere invites you to linger after a day spent hiking, climbing or skiing. The kitchen serves carefully prepared Italian and traditional Ladin dishes, naturally paired with the beers brewed on site. And for those looking for something different, there are signature cocktails, carefully selected spirits and wines from Trentino-Alto Adige.
At the heart of it all is conviviality: that simple pleasure of being together that a good beer seems to create naturally. A table shared with friends, a freshly poured pint, stories from a day in the mountains and perhaps a new beer to discover. Sometimes, that is all you need.
And then there is the environment. For Rampeèr, the mountains are not simply the setting for the brewery; they are part of its identity. That is why particular attention has been given to sustainability, with the brewery entirely powered by renewable energy. A practical way of caring for the same landscape that inspires the project every day.
Perhaps this is what makes Rampeèr so special: a passion that began far away, through Daniel's travels, eventually found its home right here, among the mountains of Val di Fassa.
Today, you can taste that passion in a glass. But to truly understand it, simply stop in Campitello, take a seat at the bar, look at the copper brewing equipment and let Daniel tell you what lies behind one of his beers.
